Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Sales Restructuring

The plan is starting to take shape. All SEs will be moved into the pool. 1/2 - 1/3 the SEMs will be laid off due to this consolidation. It will be brutal on middle management. Not many AMs being cut, but they will be covering more accounts. Those that are cut will be replaced by VSAMs. Same story of RMs being let go, but is slightly less than 1/2. Some overlays impacted but not much. Those that are still in the geos will all be moved into the specialist org for consistency, though. Can’t drop word on the huge change to comp plan as it will put me. But will share when it’s safe. Suffice it to say, good AMs will be looking for the door.

Pooled SE coverage is not for Enterprise customers, so YES, SP is definitely being merged into Enterprise

SP sales going to Enterprise- LOL what!!!! You can't cover big customers in SP with pooled based SE coverage. Calling BS on all of this just based on that comment.

WFH will be eliminated beginning Q3 for all AM's and SE's in field sales offices in locations that Cisco has not shut down

SP customers will be moved to Enterprise as most SP Sales Directors and RM's will be LR'd
Majority of Channel AM's will be LR'd except for a few assigned to the very large partners

1/2 of commercial AM's will be replaced with VSAMs
Channel sales will be reduced by 2/3 with 1/3 left to cover only the very top resellers
The rest of the resellers will be handled by channel VSAM's and Disti

Destroying the SE community is a no brainer because everyone knows that Cisco's products are simple to sell, deploy and support.

Even a caveman can do it.

But I thought almost all LR notices have been sent out except for a small subset due to critical needs. This does not seem small.

Very confusing.

I assume RM = Regional Managers, but curious if you know if big changes are coming for Renewals Managers (and/or their management) and their comp plans?

This lines up with what I’ve heard. Also heard notifications will go out in late January, the first day of Q3. They’ll have the lists soon but keep them secret so everyone keeps selling.
