Supposedly Belk corporate is considering a support team re-alignment. There have been numerous complaints through the company about support associates working extremely early shifts when they are needed at all times during store hours. One store employee claimed that Human Resources was never in the building when the bulk of associates were working because they always left by 2 or 3pm, and therefore associates were left without Human Resource assistance if needed. Instead of these early morning (6-2,7-4,7-3) shifts support associates will work a mix of mornings, nights, weekends, mid shifts, similar to sales team managers, and regular associates. This includes Human Resources, fulfillment, cash office, dock/truck, merchandising, and housekeeping. You heard it here first, more to come in the new year.

We have support associates who don't do jack squat.
then the regular sales associates, leads, and managers have to pick up the slack.
and they clock out by 3 PM
They want to force some people to quit knowing that they can’t work nights and weekends. That’s all it is. And they want to eliminate human resources in most stores, probably the golden stores will still have one.
The only people in the building at 6 or 7am should be fulfillment and possibly dock/truck/housekeeping, nobody else.
Sales sets may start the night before
Well, it takes hours to get the sale set done. If associates come in at 7 am the sale set will still not be done.
It depends on what tasks need to be done I assume. They just don’t want support staff coming in all the time at 7am so they can leave early. Some stores needed housekeeping, HR, past 2pm.
So how are sale sets and markdowns going to get done if the support staff closes?
Sounds like they are putting an end to these people who come in early, do the bare minimmum, and leave by 2. I knew that would come to an end at some point. It a strange concept for retail.
Well, I hope they give the hours to be able to give house keeping and merchandisers.
