B1b program has been terminated and sold . 50 to 60 people received termination notices today. Termination will be April 9th all terminated. 4-8 program for air force
Will not be able to be done by company that purchased the program very complex program. They sold everything to the walls. Air Force will not happy but Harris don’t care.
Clifton facilities will be next we were told by Clifton rep. B52 program may be sold and outsourced. Harris does not want to deal with legacy older programs .or repair older programs. There corporate focus has changed. All commercial programs will be sold off.
We all know our approximate 2.0 percent raises show us how they they feel about there
Talent. It did not cover the medical and benefit increase. You lost money.
A union may be a solution

@4az the Air Force is way out ahead of you on this. The customers know as soon as the decision has been made.
The Air Force has been retiring the B1B for 34 years. Also, how can a company sell a govt ontract to another company without the permission of the govt?. The AF is ok with this?
The B1b is being retired. As they are phased out, they will be replaced by the B21 "Raider".
The B-21 comes from the long range Strike Bomber program, which began way back in 2011. The Air Force awarded Northrop Grumman the major development contract 10 years ago.
The USAF hoped to have the aircraft in service by 2025 but that has been pushed back to 2027.
I'm guessing L3Harris will probably provide the EW systems for that plane (although no official announcement has been made).
It does appear however, that because of the way the company has been so lopsidedly reorganized, the EW business could be sold off as L3 leans more towards the growing space business. Some major legacy EW programs like those for F-16 and F-18 are already partially outsourced.
It's likely that the B-21 work, if any, will NOT be done in New Jersey.
The B-52 will continue to be supported at least through 2030. The b-1b will be phased out, retired slowly. Support for the legacy aircraft still operational will continue. Given the incentives provided by the company to the bargaining unit in clifton, it is doubtful that significant reductions in workforce will be done there at least on the assembly, test, operations level. However, it is well known that the Clifton facility is top heavy with managers, directors, supervisors, and"manufacturing engineers".
During this year, the leadership in Clifton will be hard pressed to justify many of these positions. Another wave of management only layoffs is coming soon. April is what everyone is thinking.
Sick and tired of hearing that NO one can do this work. If your engineering package is up to spec and gov't buys it, HELLO, anyone can do that work. Exactly why the gov buys the data package so they don't get stuck with your substandard cr-p!! Bunch of rookies on this thread!!!!
Clifton supports b1 program purchasing they are at risk for layoffs. Just found out Air Force is not happy with contractor that purchased of b1 program asking l3 to prove that they can do the job with hybrids which are critical to the program. No contractor will be able to produce the the advance components they tried before Clifton and others said no way.Too complex to meet specs. Now layoffs look like about 100 people will be laid off by the end of
March.
Clifton CWA bargaining unit got 5% a year for the next 3 years and a $2,000 sign-on bonus this past October and another one next October.
If any of us are here to get it. We're guessing not.
A union won't solve the problem. There is a union in Clifton. The company gave them a very big increase over the next 3 years that was more than DOUBLE what management got.
BUT... most of them won't be with the company long enough to see all three years.
The joke is on them... here's a raise for next year...but you're laid off today..
LOL!!!
