Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

The new business strategy is to go out of business

From where I'm sitting, just relying on layoffs and nothing else to make the numbers look better is a plan to go out of business. The new CEO isn't solving problems, he's just accelerating the decline. Watching the company I once cared about fall apart like this isn't just frustrating, it's genuinely sad.

You don’t understand the move . The Strategy….. they signed Dan to 2 years as ceo and bonus structure for meeting numbers is in the 60million range I believe is what was reported. He has 2 years from takeover to hit goals … only way he can do it is chop chop chop . Customers don’t matter , employees don’t matter… union don’t matter …. What matters is Dan is going to make moves that gets Dan his bonus in 2027. 108 million just pilfered off the top of the company. ( 40 mil to Hans , 60 mil to Dan , 4 mil to sampath and 4 mil to the other clown as 2 yr stay on bonus .

I think Dan's roll is to cut operations costs down by laying off people and replacing them with automation and A.I.

Then when the company goes into the toilet because A.I. and automation can't do a lot of what Dan thinks it will do. He will be replaced my another CEO that will sell Verizon for pennies on the dollar. Which was the plan all along.

The board of Directors will then push the new CEO to sell Verizon to Starlink, Amazon or Google. Perhaps even an A.I. company like Open A.I.?

Think of this like a 5 year plan.

Strategy. LMAO. They fire the CEO, put people on eggshells, and then we start the new year with Dan telling us he will tell us the strategy in another month. What else was the board doing during the time they fired Hans and today? There is no strategy. And whoever mentioned Project 624 is spot on. Embrassing!

Sampath will save us! His track record is full of success. People clearly understand his direction and we play to win. Just like project 624 which is the envy of the industry and has been a game changer for superior customer service. The future is so bright I can barely see! Very excited to build off our strong momentum to delight our customers.

This has to be exactly what "they" want. The board is complicit in this mess and Hans is on board at Black Rock (the "they").

How does it make any sense that a failed Finance guy CEO at Ericsson is brought in off the street as CTO? From a company fined significant sums of money for corruption and cronyism on his watch? He then ascends to the big seat. Why?

Why do they let him get away with a failed strategy aka 2.0? Why did they let him get away with quarter after quarter of losing market share? Why has there been little board turn over? Why did they fill the C Suite with euroweenies?

Why would Hans still be on the Black Rock BOD?

This is exactly what THEY want

This has been the case since Hans. Rima tried to take into adjacencies for growth but vz su-ks at doing anything but subsidize others smartphones.

It is race to the bottom

I can appreciate your position. The fact the Board has zero heritage to what made Verizon great isvthe shame. I have been with Vz 40+ years and once the board gandoif off to the European Executive Team to compete in USA was the downfall.

Throw in the top down culture and DEI Directors the HBS Business Case writes itself.
