The answer to ensuring our pay rises at the rate we want (above inflation, to keep the structure the same over time) is simple: we need to unionize. Asking in town halls anonymously why it makes sense for hourly pay to pass staff isn’t going to get a pay raise. Wondering when we’re going to get ours because the union gets theirs won’t do it. The company won’t raise pay out of kindness; only to retain the required talent to operate. Gathering together to negotiate pay terms together is the path to set us free. I see you. We need to unionize and move as one, not as individuals.

No way it’s happening in USA. Haven’t you heard unions are woke? Won’t fly here
Yes will be ki-led, happened pretty fast in NL in 2024 during the reorgs.
No staff dared to join/speak openly/sign petitions because of incoming Layoffs.

De Unie has tried for over two years in various ways to get to the table with the management of Shell. We have not succeeded in achieving this. Shell prefers not to talk to De Unie and with the other unions. But for making structural agreements on the employment conditions of non-collective labor agreement workers or when agreeing on the LOR scheme, Shell keeps the unions out of the door.
Are you serious? Shell would shut down even a rumor of unionization before the sentence finished forming. Don’t get me wrong—unions are the reason we have many of the benefits we enjoy today. But Shell allowing union talk? That’s about as likely as the company logo turning tie-dye. Any mention of forming a union outside of existing collective bargaining groups would be crushed so fast HR would beat the echo to the hallway. It’s just not happening. Ever.
