Just looked at the Board bios for both companies. No wonder VZ is getting its head handed to them. TMob is being run by telco professionals, while VZ is getting run by former and current restaurant chain CEOs and consultants.

Verizon is a rudderless ship from CEO, Board, and other high level executives.
In reality, they should fire everyone from Director level up and replace them with people from the field.
With that operational cost savings of the fired dead weight, they should move to lower the prices for our customers.
These people have the interaction with clients and customers and know what the people want and need in a network provider.
You are talking about disconnected people steering the ship who are making $150k plus to sit in HQ, listen to conference calls, and prepare PowerPoint presentations for what? While you are at it, get rid of most layers of management. I do not need a MP, SD and Sr manager all reading the same reports and coming up with "action plans" that say the same sh-t. Reach out, have more meetings etc. If you are in sales and you do not know that more calls= more meetings= closed deals you are not a professional.
I'd rather see home grown, sales reps from the retail channel and other professionals helping mold the company and give the consumers what they want.
I read the book, “unapologetically ambitious” by Vz board member. The formula of why Verizon has been so successful lately is all explained there. Good save our Board members. They are a gift, working only for a few millions, all for our benefit !!!!
