More Cuts in 2023

JF alluded to the fact we have too many salaried workers during town halls. Even though he states quality as key priority, he always mentions cost and too many resources we have that can be eliminated.

Also, they still have a dedicated transformation team that is has been created solely to look at staffing and payroll expenses.

My advice keep looking for jobs else where because Q4 and Q1 financials will be terrible, and JF /BF will think cutting seasoned GRP employees is the way to reduce cost

Ford North American workers… too many and too costly.

Ford Mexico workers….. not enough. Need more cheap labour.

Ford will get what they pay for. I’ve warned all my family and Friends to NOT buy a Ford.

"Job cut is the Ford's #1 priority. It is on every LL's objectives and PR."
I did confirm this with a manager in software.
They will be cutting jobs and Ford blue will file bankruptcy with most company debt and Ford e will be the new born debt free bird.
So unless Ford Blue file bankruptcy cuts will continue.

Layoffs won't be complete until there is no more brackets department. EVs do not use brackets. Everything is glued together. Farley has made his distain for brackets and the people that design and produce them, well known.

So if you are in brackets, you are screwed.

@1kew+1ki9eWZz In reality the tech specs were targeted by LL3.
First hand knowledge of the area formerly known as ITO.
He, the LL3, was told to trim the LL structure to a level recommended by BCG. He, the LL3, formulated the plan to target tech spec LL6 instead of removing dead weight supervisory LL6, LL5 and LL4. He, the LL3, was advised by several LL4, LL5 and LL6 (past and present) that this was a very bad idea as the tech spec LL6 were the ones doing the bulk of the work, setting direction and training staff.
He, the LL3, has been covering up for his mistakes and continuing on the same path. 40 hour projects still are not completed years on. He, the LL3, has engaged purchased services to attempt to complete simple projects. He, the LL3, attended weekly project meetings for over a year for things that a competent staff would have completed in a few weeks. Project failures and regular outages are a circular finger pointing game. The whole area has become a sad joke including the LL3.

Legacy tech specialists don't really fit into Ford's company transformation, so I'm wondering why Ford would bring him back as supplemental after a formal retirement?

But this demonstrates why cuts are continually required in the company. The Ford workforce will never reach its headcount task if we keep hiring in legacy areas that we do not need any longer.

My estimate is the previous comment is with regards to a position outside of Model e.

According to a Tech Spec that was let go in August, he was told that an external firm(more likely (Boston Consulting) provided the guidelines for those fired in August. At the UNSE Div, most of the fired people were Spvr's, Tech Spec's and a couple of managers. They were deemed too expensive regardless of their performance, so they were fired and somehow HR had a convincing speech so they did not take Ford to court. WHQ stated that 40% of LL's were going to take the early retirement according to a couple of Managers who shared that info. with their spvrs. Talking with a LL% who took retirement and is coming back as supplemental early next year, still those Divs with ICE work need to trimmed down their headcount. Hence, in order to save face, HR proposed to cut the so called "under performers" Do drink the Cool Aid and do not even get upset, according to the retuning manager, anyone is fairplay, this time those who are going to be fired will be selected by Spvr's so they can weed out those who they do not want. If you and your spvr do not get along, start packing because your are next. This new round of firings have nothing to do w/performance but with cleaning the house for the LL6's.

Yep, my LL2 would not deny this rumor. He said that after the retirements on November 30, they will re-evaluate where they are. More lay offs and/or any other cost cutting methods are not off the table.

They will cut jobs in high cost countries (IMG, EU, FNA). EU cuts will be made public around end of Jan. There must be a negative compensation for add. 9k heads in Mexico.

Ford has way too many useless employees. They have no work to do when they are working from home. Those who are on site are lazy, they only want more overtime. The older workforce are sitting around waiting for a buyout package. Leadership are creating more meetings, spreadsheets, and ppt to make themselves look important. The company is headed for a big failure.

Ford needs to cut more salary employees, because most of them have nothing to do at work, or work from home. Why do you need to pay someone 6 figure salary for doing Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations.

What a stupid company.

Of course they are going to cut people. How many people does it take to create downloadable features and sell subscriptions? It is not like Ford is going to be developing, manufacturing, and selling nearly as many new vehicles as previously.
