Long overdue! Had this happened before Intel got into discreet it may of stood a chance. Lisa's ORG has never been able to execute graphics drivers what made them think that could master dGfx? Sadly poor management decisions ki---d an entire ORG

His back surgery and his back problems will probably be used as cover in a few months to announce his departure for health reasons

Chief Architect position sounds like a promotion. There is no reason to leave Intel with such a lucrative offer+position.

Raja is side lined. Intel chief architect is the title that gets bestowed on the person who messed up and they take a 'desk job' until the next reorganization of the deck chairs. Chief Architect is a step up from Chief People Officer. It is about the same as the title of head of Intel Labs in the old days. You put people in a role where they can do the least amount of damage, save face (sort of) and where they can bloviate all they want.

While we are at it, why not bring back Murthy. He can help rearrange the deck chairs with Raja.

Intel is never serious about graphics. The fanfare around AXG fades. Client & server will get graphics part. Intel can't compete with graphics done outside and better. Besides, there is oversupply of it. It shows that Intel wanted to be MeToo company on graphics and the reorg will slowly deemphasize graphics.

Discrete graphics and compute split from integrated. Intel will quietly squeeze the life out of the DCAI portion as DCAI will be managed to profitability. It may not go away entirely or it will be quietly de-emphasized. In any case, the underlying problem remains: a) Intel cannot afford to waste money any more on failed new market attempts and b) all spare margin dollars will go to fund Pat's "moonshot" IDM 2.0 to try and dethrone TSMC.

AXG is being split between CCG & DCAI. RK will "remain" Intel's chief architect in the interim but gone after that.

No more AXG. Split between CCG and DCG. Raja becomes chief architect - maybe interim?
