Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Things will not improve

If you have any marketable skills I would suggest you leave the dumpster fire that AT&T has turned into and never look back. Things are not going to improve next year or the year after. You will not magically get any of the benefits they took from us back or start to receive proper raises. The only place you can find all that is outside of AT&T.

Rumor, Rumor, Rumor...that union d0uch3 bag just doesn't quit with the 5/5/5 rumor!
He is still looking for people to react to his nonsense! Yes, I am, but I have been with this company for a very long time and those offers haven't been seen in at least 2 of my last decades!

If you leave, keep coming back here to comment cuz you just can stop looking back.

Why would you leave if there is severance on the table? Ride this train until the wheels fall off. You will always get another job eventually....

It will last until March 2023 and then the company will roll out the enhanced offer of 5 years to age and service plus $5k per year of service to bargained for employees. This will circumvent the contractual layoff caps, eliminate largely unproductive, expensive older workers and save AT&T a lot of money….and that’s a FACT, JACK!

Staying till laid off with severance, whenever that comes. Not leaving the 6 months salary on the table. If they do away with management severance, I'll re-evaluate.

Job is not horrible and I make good money.

Once they take benefits from you, you will never get them back. The only thing keeping the represented folks right now from being screwed over like management has been the past few years is the union, and who knows how long that will last.
