After years of working hard and doing everything possible to earn a director role, I eventually realized I was being strung along. My director repeatedly made promises about promotion that never came through, while simultaneously expecting me to prioritize hiring people from his own nationality. That environment made it clear that growth there was never going to be based on merit for women at this company. Walking away was not easy, but I’m incredibly relieved to have finally found a way forward.

Female here and worked at OT for a long time. The mansplaining, the taking of my ideas, the lack of recognition, the lower pay than my male teammates who always asked me for help, none of that is surprising. Sorry. I hear certain verticals treat females fairly. Even equal to men. Most others treat women terribly. I’m out (my own choice) and it feels so good!
Lisa Boyle is an excellent woman leader.
@e8 At CDO, the quality of work doesn't matter.
Got it.
I have different view on this topic, being in the right organization is very important. At CDO we have women leaders and everyone in the group helps each other grow in their careers. With the right connections and position in the group, you can quickly move up to roles like VP, SVP, or even CMO. It’s more about how well you fit in the group than the quality of work you produce.
I think a lot of you are missing a key bit of context.
"...while simultaneously expecting me to prioritize hiring people from his own nationality."
Indians only hire Indians and they do whatever they can to take a steaming hot dump on the rest they can't immediately fire.
and On Cue Damage Control sent out an International Women's Day email.
OMG
It seems like you expected special treatment after hearing all of the DEI nonsense OTEX constantly spews.
Anyway, it su-ks for everyone except the ELT at OTEX. Quit trying to divide us.
Why do you think your gender should matter? if you think it's because OT talks about empowering women and celebrating women and blah, blah, blah....that's all talk and placation and pandering. And, I am a woman saying this.
@OP you can remove “for women leaders” and it’s still accurate.
@OP
Congratulations for making that difficult decision. There are a lot of good companies and great bosses out there.
Just being out of that toxic culture of Open Text will be healing.
Wishing you all the best as you move forward.
deep respect and congrats
