COBRA turned into a disaster with NESC

Retired on October 31st along with others and decided to go with COBRA since it keeps my current medical plan and I had met out of pocket maximum for the year. On November 10th they shut mine and therest of my group's medical & pharmacy off. They kept Dental and Vision. Finally got BCBS on but can't get Optum RX. BCBS says NESC needs to send eligibility file to Optum RX. Optum RX says the same. NESC says that BCBS is supposed to send the eligibility file to Optum RX. Not sure who is correct, but I am screwed with no pharmacy insurance and have met my deductible for.the year. This is absolute BS!! Farley must have did a round of cuts in NESC also.

Prepare to have mishaps at the end of every year. Husbands cobra coverage period had two year ends. For both it took a month to straighten out. So expect to save receipts for a month each year and spend another month fighting to get reimbursed. Ensure you keep all documents. It will all sort out once Ford sends a current data file.

HRA at healthequity was another 3 month battle. If you have one keep your eye on it.

I don’t think there is any nefarious intent. Just the general IT issues that come with going with lowest bidder. Inexperienced programmers, bad data feeds, incomplete specs, poor communication.

On the bright side - zero issues with insurance from healthcare.gov (Obama care). A little more pricey than cobra but no headaches and wasted time.

NESC is horrible. Outsourced garbage like everything else at Ford. If Ford touches it then it's cr-p.

Anyone that buys our vehicles is an imbecile.
