Anyone bothered to watch the training? Any material changes to the ranking system?

@mz Exxon is an up or company. That is what is different post covid. While the senior roles are still there there are less of them or the cls have been reduced. If you continue up great, if not then you will be forced out. It’s as simple as that, nothing personal.
Problem is that at ExxonMobil if you're not going up you're eventually going to go out.
People forced to stay in equal or lower positions will quickly get eaten by the few that are slingshotted through the ranks.
So unless this revised DS strategy comes with revisions to the assessment process (it doesn't and will not) many people in the higher cl's (27/28/29 and even 26) are in some kinda trouble.
There's simply nowhere for a large number of employees to go and compete with those already in impactful large scale positions. Any new, good positions with real impact will be given to the hipos who need to fulfill their ultimate potential.
This should be alarming to 21-25 folks because while you may have raises and greater responsibility opportunities in the near term you already know what awaits you in 10-15 years. Can you make it to retirement? Will retirement be there? In the past you could say with reasonable certainty yes. But now, who knows?
Something to consider.
EM pays you to perform a job, if you don’t want to perform the job the ask you to do for the compensation they are offering then go do something else. Thinking you’re entitled to anything more than that is the issue, who cares if you move back / sideways etc.
All this backwards and sideways messaging just indicates that most folks won't be going up anymore and thst it'll be normal.
The training emphasizes that you may go backwards or parallel when receiving a next assignment and not be promoted. Justification is that it enables you to grow your skills.
They are distilling every valuable job, regardless of organization/department into a set of skills so they can hone in on how to train the AI to replace us.
This company would not spend all this time and effort in re-working a process unless it benefits them. Any time a process/system is changed, you can be sure it will be better for the company and therefore worse for you.
Looks to me like the fix to ‘CL creep’ was slipped in with some slightly better career planning.

D&S has nothing to do with ranking, but the entire way D&S is performed is going to change April 1
