Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Dr-g Testing

I wonder how panelists would feel if they knew that the Field Reps going into their homes, and driving through their neighborhoods are not dr-g tested? Huge liability for Nielsen as many of their field employees are under the influence at work, especially in states with legal ca--abis.

@51p Not true, that might be what you think happens but it is not what happens. If a Nielsen employee is terminated for drunk driving (only terminated if they were found guilty in a court of law), being drunk on the job, policy violations, etc (not laid off), they are not eligible for re-hire. If you were a manager that has been around for a while, you would know that. As a manager I have seen this myself many times and I am not given a choice to keep someone with a guilty verdict. I am also not able to bypass a failed background check to just hire someone back because I want to. The pre-hire background check (if there was a conviction) catch convicted misdemeanors and felonies. We have turned around many candidates due to failed background checks including possible rehires. We also terminate current employees that fail the periodic driving record checks. So no, someone couldn't be found guilty of drunk driving or OWI and be rehired or even stay here. Being intoxicated at work is grounds for immediate termination as well.

@3gt perhaps they are fired, but they get rehired and their coworkers are none the wiser. Multiple reps got caught drinking and driving their company vehicles and went out on a leave for months, sometimes upwards of a year, and bo-m — they’re back in the schedule available for installs etc.

@3de This is not true. If an employee is convicted of drunk driving or OUI they are no longer able to be employed by Nielsen. This is found out if a FR discloses this to their manager or the 2x/year (minimum) driving record checks that will catch this performed every year for every employee at Nielsen. Those that are irresponsible enough to drunk drive in their work vehicle or personal vehicle (during work time or personal time) and get convicted are terminated.

@3c0 yes, and they still have their jobs. Insane.

The funniest part is how many FRs and/or MRs have gotten DUIs in a company vehicle lmao 🤣

Once of twice a year we all take the attestation online. Think about that training. If this a real concern, report it to the ombudsman. THATS IF the ombudsman hasn't changed his or her LinkedIn profile to 'OPEN TO WORK' like many others have had to...

@10v+1kncyv650, If dr-gs were a problem or real risk, this would have been recognized over the last 35 years of field work. But lets keep this in check...isn't this platform about layoffs and does this relate to layoffs? People in the field loose sight of how big Nielsen is as a multi-national. US Field is one tiny facet of the company. But I am sure Karthik relishes the distraction from his dirty work and terrible leadership.

@10h You've seen it yourself, yet the OP is making it ip? Id--t. Lmao, you think FRs are calling an Uber to drive them to and from Installs? Give me a break. If you don't have a clue how rampant it is. I am a current FR and I see it all the time. Ive seen FRs driving high, at installs high, at company meetings high, Ive even known FRs who buy and sell to/from panelists. Its easy for them these days with vape pens masking the odor. You can gaslight all you want. I say dr-g test any Nielsen employee who drives a company vehicle. Why wouldnt Nielsen want to protect themselves from liability? Why...because they'd have to fire 40% of thier Field and Membership Reps. Its only a matter of time before a rep hits a kid, pet, or property with their car and catches a lawsuit for Nielsen.

@OP Are we just making stuff up now to slander Nielsen? Employees have been dr-g and alcohol tested if they appear to be under the influence at Nielsen. They will be driven home by an employee or by uber as well. I've seen it myself unfortunately. If you are implying that the only people left are so low caliber that they would get wasted at work, you su-k. But there are sh---y people everywhere in life.

@vw No, its simply a fact and a reflection of the culture and lack of integrity that Nielsen leadership has.

@v2 agree, this is more of blame manipulation or people wanting Nielsen to fail. Having known how the ceo, cto, hr, ai focused other leaders operate, it's not below them to post such stuff deflecting topics and blame. It's been quite ugly in town halls as well. They want to get rid of majority of the USA workforce, to project cost saving. FRs over the years been hardworking people, a bad apple now and then sometimes but this is the first time in over a decade I have heard of such things to this extent.

Not bull. 100% fact. The 2 replies here are obviously bots or damage control. Only one way to find out. Random dr-g test any Nielsen employee who drives a company vehicle.
