Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Is this the norm at Macy's??

There are no paper towels to dry your hands with inside the employee bathrooms and in the break room. No hand soap to wash your hands. The employee bathrooms are filthy...the floor is black. It's disgusting to eat your lunch inside the store and even go to the bathroom....I rather go to Dillards next door where it's sparkling clean and they have automatic paper towels dispensers. oh and nice smelling hand soap too....One person to clean the whole entire store??? Please scrub down the floors and toilets....and aren't you embarrassed of how dirt fill your store is???? No wonder we have rats. Managers I encourage you to come eat and use our bathrooms?????? We literally have to bring our own soap and paper towels. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

There is never any soap in the bathrooms in herald square. Broken ice machines, chunks of who knows what in the water, no room in the fridge to put your stuff. Its insane.

Ok, if you are working for a company that can’t afford to clean a restroom, have soap and paper towels and toilet paper, what does that tell you? Maybe this is not a good company to work for? —-Ya think ??

@OP I would upload pics if they weren't traceable(I have taken photos) .....The walls in our employee bathroom, especially right under the hand dryer is disgusting...looks like a new york subway station. Who would dry their hands there? I'm use to waving my hands and drying them on my pants. The soap dispenser dispenses drops of foam not soap, almost nothing comes out. The toilet has stains inside that have been there for months. Same hair on toilet in the back for months and black dirty floor with hairs stuck on it and god knows what else...The one sink is backed up.... This is how Macy's treats their employees folks and it shows how these people live in their house....as a former retail store manager, I would be a shame to say I manage that store. Like the poster above said...people leaders come eat in our break room and use our bathrooms!!!!! oh and we have rat traps everywhere. The working conditions are horrible.

This is becoming the norm at HSQ. This move to 4 days a week has been ridiculous. WiFi down, no paper towels, leaks and floods. The People coming back will have minimum 200 complaints on day 1. The building is old and I don’t know if this was a good idea.

Our restrooms are clean with the exception sometimes it gets out of hand if there is a call out within housekeeping
Our location doesnt have paper towels, but it does have hand dryers.
I've worked at a few stores and it just depends on the house keeping crew IMO.

@eq Yes meaning there may but tp on the floor in the stalls and hair on the floor by the sinks from women brushing their hair and tossing it on the floor. The toilets are clean and customers actually comment on how clean it it.

To answer your question-- Yes, it is the norm. Macy's is downfalling and spiraling and descenting. I left, many questioning in here, and got an easier one that pays better. Dont complain if u dont want to work here i didnt and im better off now

Wow we have soap and paper towels in the breakroom and hand dryers in the store bathroom. It may not be the cleanest but it is cleaned everyday. The store bathroom is cleaned twice a day yeah it might not be the best but it's not that bad and we only have 1 cleaning person a day. The paper towels and soap are by the store because they are ordered by the MBA. So that for sure is all on management.

Yes it's the norm. Makes me wonder how some of these store managers live in their homes.
