I had a last min 1:1 this morning and was told my last day is Friday. I thought I would be shocked, sad, angry but what I feel most is relief. Waiting for my paperwork - feels surreal.

Is anyone impacted from CSG or this week was all ISG. Some people left CSG last week. It seems like this week was deeper.

@e1 Maybe, that's not really enough data to say for sure. I heard from a senior director-level friend of mine, but he certainly could have been misinformed.
@dw our 20 ppl team got one person axed. Other team of the same size also one person axed. So I guess it’s 5%
Me as well, ISG. Hearing about 10% across the board is the target. Most of my time here (8 years) has been good, but the writing has been on the wall. Dell isn't interested in leveraging AI to increase output, just cut costs (i.e., people like me).
@bj Seems like a lot of +40 veterans are being cut at a high rate. Dell has a poor record in defending age discrimination suits. Was yiur position replaced by a young'ling or an Indian?

Count me out too after almost 20 years. A little sad but I also feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, like I can finally enjoy my life and not be tied to worrying about what dreadful mess awaits me when I log in every day.

Also me. Also Friday. Package is 2mo + 1wk/yr + unused vacay (state dependent). Not totally unexpected but after almost 2 decades of work...the feels.

They got me too after 27 years. Not unexpected but surprised because I figured it would come in Q2 or Q3. I was looking to time it just right but didn't make it. Feels weird. Very weird. I can retire if I want to but will think about what I want to do. Just another very loyal old time Dell employee who likely was expensive compared to others pushed out the door. Sad to be going out this way.
What does it say about a company when employees are relieved to be laid off? It says that company is abusive, cheap, and leaderless.

Did they give you a package? If so, was it 2 months + 1 wk/year? What about COBRA? Did you get paid for unused vacation (depends on state, I believe)?

I had mine last year. It's a lot better on the other side. Good luck. It was helpful for me to carve out a lot of time for improving my health and working on catching up on my industry skills and certifications. You tend to atrophy at a place like Dell where everything is off-shored and d-mbed down.
