Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Where did all the money go, Roman?

All those new groups of people who do what, exactly? The senior hires with fat pay packages? The people being paid Silicon Valley start up wages to reduce fax volumes? A crypto platform that nobody wanted or needed, rolled out at the very moment that whole sector s*** the bed. Likely hundreds of millions of dollars spent with scarcely a penny in revenue to show for it. Real producers and hard workers let go to fund all this nonsense.

What say you, Regelman? Your days must surely be numbered. Which organisation will you gaslight next? (Thankfully your incessant burnishing of your own image on LinkedIn - the only real work you’ve done in years - will doubtless land you in a nice, cushy encore role…)

Maybe he invested the money in ftx. The bank would have more to show for it if he did.

Gave up bothering to listen to his bullcr-p at the nausea-enducing “Town Halls” … he can’t speak for more than 20 seconds before he passes it off to someone else … clown

I think RR thinks he will be the next Steve Jobs so he's trying to get a cult-like following and persona. He has no charisma, technical skills, vision, and just generally isn't good with people but many see his total personality as something pretty memorable and worth talking about. Not sure if that's because they secretly resent or fear him and that's how they cope with it, or they are just brown-nosing.

In reality, he is destroying the LOB's he covers and we will all pay for it unless we find something better!

Some areas of the firm still require instructions to be faxed from internal clients. (I wish I was not being serious but I am).

His team had approached my team in 2019 about helping us improve our process. I'd say they had at least 6 people assigned (mix of NY and Singapore) - I'm not sure if they were 100% focused on us, but my team was quite small as it was - 10 people globally. I wasted hours for the next year detailing our process end to end so they could create something - they made a prototype on the simplest of cases and it was an epic fail. Essentially nothing was created to be used and with what we could test, it was filled with all sets of bugs. Since the duration of their project was over a year, it got cancelled. No accountability or saying "hey, sorry we wasted your time." The worst part about it was that they kept using words like "sprint" and had implied they wanted to really move fast on this. I wouldn't say my job is difficult or what my team does is difficult, but it is a very steep learning curve to understand the scope of what we do and all the nuances within. Even for new joiners, it takes over 6 months to even get down the basics. For the most simple case, the digital team failed big time. Needless to say, their arrogance did them in, but I don't think they learned any lessons from it. Many of these participants are shilled on LinkedIn so anyone reading this forum could have a guess of who they are!

HerpDerp digital transformation? They did that to us at the little Pacific Life company. Pacific Life is partnered with BNY Melon. 100s of us got certified in cloud technology…… wait for it….,.
we all trained our Indian replacements from cognizant and tata at the end of that same year.
Meanwhile they were flying in consultants from Accenture from New York City and hiring chief experience innovation transformation servant leader #5.
After millions spent and 300-400 americans losing their job. Yeah there business model is pretty much the same.
I’ve never had to live through so much hustle po-n just to get laid off 12 months later.

And like you said, nothing to show for it.
Seeing the same thing here at the Hospital I work for now. No one wants a transformative digital customer journey through the patient care process. I think they just want to see the Dr and go home. We have a large expensive digital team that has no sense how business operates.
Tech is a false cult

The Digital team is a joke. They have no inkling of proper data management principles, nor do they care about the digital records that the company is legally required to retain. Honestly, they should all be terminated.

No, he has executive comms people who come up with content for his LinkedIn (they post it for him too).
