If management knew how to treat their employees, I bet things would be different! Our team sat through countless meeting where a new “rising star” (aka a 23 yr old blond) would receive managerial awards for literally doing nothing, all the while they were being trained by reps and not the DM. Reps received no thanks at all, as if it was our job 🤦‍♀️.
This went from being one of the best places to work to now one of the worst, all because of the toxic work environment it became. If it makes sense to sit in your car 4 hours a day, so be it! I hope you are using part of that 4 hours to look for new work! Let them pay for that too!

@1dp When you get a Partially Met rating at the end of year and NO raise, who will you blame then? If you sell and do what you’re paid to do maybe management can defend you and can get your rating up. If you keep this attitude you will get a forced PM and that’s that. Good luck with your rebellion.

@1df I do enjoy a big miss on my objective when needed! When my DM will call and ask for my projection and I call a miss of $30k…feels good! Make it big enough nobody can cover my miss for them! When they push back, so do I. I simply say…”not sure where this number came from to be honest”! Or, “I’m still cleaning up the territory from the previous rep”! Hahahahahaha!

Yup. I just fight fire w fire. If Im not hitting my number bc of a bs objective neither will my DM bc I will intentionally tank my number so he doesn't hit. It's not hard to set objectives of the team gets a 5% increase every rep should get 5% not giving your favorites a 1% and other reps a 10% increase. If you take money out of my pocket I'm taking it from yours.

@1aq ask how and why objectives are set that way! Ask often! Get under their skin! Hold them accountable! Watch em squirm, it’s funny! It’s not rocket science how objectives are set, year over year! Some DMs base objectives on who does the most favors, ours sure does! Love to watch em panic when asked!

Yup. My DM will give the cr-ppy reps a 2% increase and give the good reps a 12% increase in their objectives. So tell me exactly why I would want to sell and be a good worker? So I can't get sc--wed!?

Being a top performer in this joke of an organization, gets ya nowhere!
Objectives are so manipulated to begin with! Everything about this organization screams trash! Sad but true, user it be a great place to work! While change is always needed to keep up in the world, every change made to field sales is negative…more work and less money! That’s a big red flag of an organization that is struggling! If you don’t believe me, just look at their stock! Shareholders and investment companies see it! Nothing there! Poor leadership!

Yup that's where I'm at as well. I care about my stores but Could care less about this job. I don't even look at the sales tracker and would never try to get an extra display because nobody would fill it. We are by far the worst dad company.

@14w I’ve become friends with lots of retail management from my accounts. They aren’t giving up floor space to a company that su-ks, and that’s Mondelez! If I wanted a display they would support me, not Mondelez, but since they know Mondelez can’t maintain anything I sell in, we don’t bother! It’s easy. I have zero expectation to ever hit a bonus and I don’t care, my partner is the bread winner and this is a just a little job that covers our insurance etc until we don’t need it anymore. Once we got to this place, I don’t care what my DM tells me. If I’m lucky enough to be terminated for performance, there’s a lot of people that would also have to be and I’m over 40. They would have to get rid of half the sales employees with me or face a lovely problem. Kinda fun now to poke the bear!

In my territory I pretty much have to do everything, my merchandisers won’t try to sell into stores I don’t get scheduled to and I hear why is there no displays or why is it empty, those that do get sc--wed and those that don’t come out smelling like a rose with no punishment

The only thing ambition gets you is more work. It does not pay to be a good worker you'll get punished w more work and higher objectives.

Yea it's 100% not a sales job. No incentive to sell. A true salesman makes 100k plus easily. A mondelez "sales rep" is a glorified merchandiser or what I like to call "Head merchandiser"

If it was truly a sales job employees would get paid for all the stuff they sell in. This company sets everything so high everyone can sell their as--s off, and not make 1 fu--ing cent! Ever heard of a loaded deck? Ponzi scheme? Freaking shell game? No one's selling sh-t around here until we start getting paid!
