Did anyone know Stankey when he was thought to be a good guy? Just wondering.

He revealed his non-favorable approach to employees when he said years ago they were fungible ("Being of such nature or kind as to be free exchangable or replacable, in who or in part, for another of like nature or kind.")
I just can't stop thinking of Stankey. Wondering what he is doing tonight.

Someone once told me his father in law was a top Exec at PAC BELL which would explain his quick rise.
In the early 2000’s when he was VP of Industry Markets, he decided only 3rd lines and above should have laptops. Once our lease expired we were forced to get desktop. Exceptions had to be approved by him. If you had work to do away from the office, you had to remote in to your desktop from personal computer. I was a 2nd line at the time and remember being in a few high level meetings with an SBC subsidiary and SBC AVP/VP’s. At one point I literally had to borrow one of their laptops to log into my desktop in order to share information they needed. Productivity took a real step backwards until they finally reversed that decision. All to save a few dollars…
He appeared at SBC after the PacBell merger. Every employee talk had a threat. We called him "Mr. Up to and including"
I know him from kindergarten and ad I remember he was very cranky kid, always crying and fussing. He took my toy and hit me . Not a good person.
I went to an all managers conference in the early 2000's and was greatly turned off by his presentation. I didn't know it then, but it was a harbinger of things to come.
I worked in his org in the early 2000’s. His play book was the same- drop headcount as a way to move forward. He’s not someone who is innovative. He’s managing and that’s it. I once asked him an answer I already knew the answer to, and like a pro, his answer was a complete lie and bs answer to.
I worked with in San Francisco like 25 years ago, He was actually a nice guy back in the day.
I didn’t know him back when he was in elementary school.
