Instead of trying in a competing company, colleagues who leave all too often decide to leave this industry altogether. Is there anyone here who left the industry and is willing to share their experience?

I left telecommunications behind and have been teaching school. I enjoy it and have no regrets at all.
I left AT&T to work in AI and machine learning. I now make triple what I made at AT&T.
I jumped from blue to red a few years ago. I originally left the field, but the money wasn't near as good. I jumped back in with big red after about a year after leaving big blue. I've been here since. Eventually moved up to management. I'm on the precipice on jumping ship and looking for other industries with better money. This industry is flickering out. As a sales job or good paying job. This job will not exist in another 10 years. I'm looking into reality and 1099 sales type stuff. Work for myself. Work is out there. Unless you have a fancy degree I'm not finding much. Companies are still crying that no one wants to work. When it's really their not offering nearly enough. I recommend trying to get out before you're left with $h!t in your hands.

all of the folks i know left to start successful small businesses or enter into the medical field. i know one in particular that built a business thats worth about $10 million in about 5 years.
I have been here a long time but my thought is that a move to a government job would be a natural fit. Bureaucracy. Slow paced "don't complete the job too quickly" mentality.
