Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

I think it would be incumbent upon leadership

to put out a statement that either confirms or denies this event if it is indeed true or just rumors.
It’s bad business keeping it out there it can shake investors too hearing about this. Everyone wants stability. Needs stability so transparency is paramount.

@am there wasn't a statement in 2024, it wasn't acknowledged at all from the c suite in any formal communication. I don't have faith that it'll be different this time.

@a1 a whole week of work is lost? So you're not working due to rumors and being mad about RTO? Maybe you're part of the problem

@a2 could be purposeful by ppl wanting to cause a stir or a competitor or bad rumors. Nothing on here is factual unless there is a link or letter to view.

Well if there aren’t layoffs, it would be really helpful for them to post.

However there are layoffs every year so who knows what’s just normal downsizing and a massive company wide RIF. I don’t think it will be massive. Fidelity isn’t hurting for cash.

No one can confirm that people managers are the ones posting.

What are you talking about??? First of all, it’s clearly true, there are people managers giving very credible information. Second, you want leadership to put out a communication now that says there will be layoffs Thursday? That helps how? You want them to say exactly who will be affected? Affected people will find out Thursday.

Yeah and a whole week of work is lost because of this. It’s bad PR and management
