Here's my 2 cent : Most of them don't have any viable skillset to be employable outside or just want to slobber around with a fat paycheck and somehow the org and ELT values it as "too big to fail"

Having worked in fab and outside fab within intel as well outside intel for few years.
Here are my 2 cents - i have never seen as much incompetence and arrogance anywhere else.
Its like you see incompetent people(but not arrogant) and arrogant ones(but skilled) at other places or teams.
Its very rare breed in TMG
Intels big revenue crutch is from the physical product it is still selling, the closer you are to those wafers the longer you remain.
Only a fool would think those fab workers are being protected because the company feels they won't get a new job elsewhere. 🙄
When fab workers are laid off you know your up the creek without your paddle.
I don't normally answer Troll posts but I will indulge...
All the Fab PE & a majority of Techs I know have a degree so are valuable to other organisations that value a college qualification first and foremost, but a lot of the techs also have trade qualifications behind them aswell, so in reality they posess a much larger transferable skill set than your average office worker.
Yes they may take a smaller wage for such jobs but not by much nowadays as trade skills charge premium now as so many of the soft skills population can only do just that.
I know I'd rather pay a tech to fix my AC over a programmer.
Your $0.02 is worthless. You sound like a bitter troll
It’s safe till Intel realizes how inefficient TMG is and nothing to run in the fabs, SOL
Ummm OP..Manufacturing ET here, I've a Bachelor's in addition to a secondary degree in Chemistry. I've a co-worker that is starting on his PhD. I spent years as a successful engineer, (semiconducting, but not at Intel) but I am older and don't need the stress anymore, so I am happy as an ET. We work hard to keep things flowing/tools qualified etc. I don't know where the F@&k you get your massively huge ego from, but we don't slobber around for a BIG paycheck..lolol I make 95K/yr..hardly big.
