No H1B laid off

FIS has been preserving the H1B visa employees.
The team had several layoff of US citizen and some were transferred to Cognizant, but all employees on work visa were left untouched.

Apparently FIS loves Indian origin employees

There were some h1b laid off but the layoffs were >50% non indian which is "interesting"

Visas complicate the process - some are company specific, so it's probably easier to rebadge someone with less paperwork.

I know few employees(atleast 3 around me) on visa have been rebadged. So what you say is not true. Cognizant is doing the visa transfer.
