Does anyone else feel like workplace monitring has gone way too far?
Badge swipes logged... VPN activity closely watched. Teams status checked (and tracked). Calendars scanned. Emails parsed... Productivity fu--ing evaluated.... AI note-takers showing up in meetings, nobody asked for them....
Then executives act surprised when morale is awful and people do not trust management. At this point, I assume every company laptop is basically a tracking device that also happens to run work apps.
Some teams are, well, using Teams
Badges are swiped and monitored for your safety, so management knows who is in the building in case of a fire, active sho-ter, etc. Emails are scanned and reviewed because of malicious software, viruses, etc remember you are connected to a huge corporate network. Do your work and QUIT COMPLAINING .
Keep it low, do minimal work as required and carry on... of course everything is being tracked and analyzed.
@ar no this is patently false VBG exclusively uses Slack for messaging (migrated from Jabber some years ago) and the only thing we use Teams for is customer meetings. One-on-one’s and team meetings are either Google Meet or Webex.
There is no expectation for privacy outside of the bathroom.

Teams? What group are you in that uses teams and not slack?
Was it really that closely watched (did someone actually have conversations with you around it?) - I did hear that once you are either on leave or serving out a notice period, they do take away your ability to send or receive attachments in your emails - the email sends (or opens) just sans attachment.
@OP Waaaa, they are checking my work emails! Waaaa, they are checking my productivity! Maybe you are some of the deadweight that needs to be removed.

@OP at the minimum... that is the way it is supposed to be...security threats are a magnitude more sofisticated these days...calendars?? Haven't you heard about it is being hacked?.... You are over reacting...and yes the Co. Laptops are Co. Laptops...they are a tool given to you to perform your job.
