Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Really Puts Things in Perspective

3 hours a day.
15 hours a week.
60 hours a month.
720 hours a year.

That’s 30 full days of your life spent commuting every year.

One entire month annually sacrificed sitting in traffic so a presence report can show the “right numbers” for work that still just happens on a laptop and Teams calls.

Thousands in gas, tolls, parking, wear and tear, and unpaid time gone forever.

And for what? Morale is worse. Burnout is worse. The stock is down. People are leaving.

That’s #LifeAtATT

The only metric they care about from RTO is the number of people that quit or retire. Thats the whole point, headcount reduction. They can’t justify it any other way.

Sometimes....the traffic getting to the office simply stops me in my tracks. If my wife comes out of the bathroom when I am on my way down the hall to my office.....

@bv

I'm certain that you have a solid basis for your claim. Please describe the research you took to determine that "most of you haven’t interviewed for other positions."

@a7

I never had to use it until I had the misfortune of dealing with people like you. How bout you focus less on the term, and more on why you persist in the underlying behavior patterns?

In other words, if you stop the bootlicking, I won't need to call you a bootlicker. Simple enough for even you to understand.

@ad

Oh really? In your rush to be so "witty", you overlooked the concept of active disengagement. Maybe have someone read the wiki to you.

Bootlickers are getting more and more dimwitted every day.

@aa

Fantastic advice but I will pass.

I'll be here as long as possible, collecting as many paychecks as possible, doing as little work as possible, and wasting corporate resources along the way.

The fact that it makes you all cranky is an added bonus 😉

Speaking of perspective. Let’s all harken back to the corporate virtue signaling about our responsibility to reduce the carbon footprint individually and collectively. We were all gonna be as green as green could be. We were committed to the environment. It was our responsibility. So, what happened? RTO is the antithesis of our commitment to the environment. Typical corporate crock. Right up there with You Matter, Empower the Working Woman. Black Lives Matter. All Lives Matter. NOBODY MATTERS except a few select at the top. Let’s see the demographic pie chart that shows gender, race, etc. and progress made in those areas. HA! We won’t see it and it won’t be shown because RTO has obliterated any and all progress in that area also. Perspective.

Is constantly using the word "bootlicking" an ingrained component of your core personality? BTW, see you on the commute

Who in Atlanta has only three hour commute…? Consider yourself lucky.

@a1 If we do, will you finally stop bootlicking? Or is it an ingrained component of your core personality by now?

The damage caused by the 8/1/25 email can never be undone. Stinks response to his employee base was “You don’t matter”. He doesn’t care about your social, emotional, or mental well-being. The lack of understanding, recognition, and value has fully contributed to the disengagement, anxiety, and fragmentation.
