Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Get ready…RTO is happening!

Guys are in our building today moving out old furniture to get things ready for the final group coming back in! Good luck in getting a spot you like. Those of us that have been coming in for TWO YEARS have taken all of the good ones. Enjoy your final days at home!

@aj we have one that is in the office about 3 days a week and we always know when she is there from the (very) loud team calls and music. It’s ridiculous

@bq Truist can't even figure out how to implement RTO. Its been what, 7 or 8 months since they announced RTO and no one has any clue where they will be sitting? Do you think the same incompetent leadership can impliment outgoing badge monitoring? Thats funny!

The people smugly celebrating RTO are usually insecure, bitter, and unhappy. I like it when people don’t come in. Less crowded and it gives me a political advantage. Focus on your own career.

@az Not when you have to badge out just like you have to badge in. Then your manager won’t be able to do anything to cover for you.

Relax - no one will be in the office for more than an hour, if that. They will all coffee-swipe and be home by 9:00 and the "favorites" will get "exceptions" from CEO -2 to remain remote. Those truely required to RTO 8 hours will clog HR's inbox with accommodation requests for debilitating IBS. The current full-time RTO folks will continue to be bitter and those asked to return will somehow manage to stay out of the office, creating even more bitterness. I'll check back in 2027 to see how this plays out.

@aj

Consider it an opportunity for cross-functional communication. Freely interject your commentary into the conversations.

Maybe you will unlock some spontaneous synergies and create a stronger corporate culture.

Just remember to be loud and stay on speaker.

Apologize to the folks on the phone, but you can’t do anything because management wanted RTO. Give them RTO, good and hard.

@a4 After listening to your coworker be on call after call after call on her headphones talking loud all day, you’re gonna wish you were next to me. Have fun with that!
