Can any managers write anymore?

Honestly, are there any other teams that have management that just regurgitates whatever Claude spits out at them? It’s really hard to take anyone seriously when they don’t even do their own writing, problem solving and communication. It’s obviously a balance, but I literally don’t have any trust left for reading anything anymore.

@dy you are missing the point, probably as usual, How can all managers be incompetent? Hiring decisions are management decisions with the input from others but the decision is made by the manager. Individual contributors don't have the authority to hire or fire.

@ce I had four interviews (all technical), the two senior technical "leaders" in the BU interviewed me and had 30 minute Q&A with the person (non-technical) that I report to, so I am doubtful they had much influence on hiring decision. And yes they should've not "promoted" this person from IC to leader.

This topic is such a common theme on this site... put down all managers and group them all as idi-ots. How s it possible that all managers at all levels are incompetent? A manager hired you so I guess you are an example of just another bad management decision...

@a5 what makes you think it isn't? If someone only uses AI to generate their work than they can clearly be replaced by AI. Everybody's work is being evaluated and they will end up in the layoff list at some point.

At this point I rather have a bot manage me. My manager doesn’t write themselves anything in emails or longer WebEx posts, pointing out exceptional work, certificate congratulations, holiday congratulations everything is written by circuit. They can barely express themselves in spoken English (that goes for most EU, Bangalore management). They use bots to point out work that should be done. They don’t even check themselves if the work actually has to be done before messaging and interrupting you. Zero personal effort on what’s actually needed. Nothing depends on them, etc…

@OP not claude, CIRCUIT!!! lol! what a bunch of bs. I recently heard a "leader" read an AI written reponse for one his ICs q3 shotout. like really fu---r? you couldn't take 2 minutes to write a personal thank you for someone you are pointing out as doing exceptional work?! this place is dead.
