So we were told today we’re only get 2.5% increase this year. That won’t even touch the inflation we’ve all faced over the last couple of years. This is crazy.

@3af Worker bees are cut because the current seller bees cant sell.
Seller bees will use the same excuses over and over. Rig count, our prices are to high, delivery time, blah blah blah...
If a sales person has a strong relationship with the customer and an industry known / respected product, the cash register will ring.
@328 so why do they keep cutting the worker bees that actually perform the work? Why not cut some of the fat at the top? You know, the ones who actually made the decisions that got them to this point? This company is saturated with so many redundant layers of upper management. How many VP’s do we really need? We have 2 VPs of Operations (east and west region) in our business segment that report to another VP of Operations just for the US. That’s crazy. Maybe cut the senior VP of operations or the 2 VPs that report underneath him and actually make the senior VP “get his hands dirty” for once.
Increases haven’t been approved yet. Word is, many groups will not get approved.
@328 Those raises might not be happening, but those bonuses keep coming! The ones that actually do the work get nothing.
Look, the company has a few choices right now. Regardless of your argument for mismanagement, the financial situation is simple. They either cut back on work force and do a lot of layoffs or limit raises. Not the best answer, but facts are facts.
Less is more
I know its not much but there are those get nothing
Wage rises are meant to be wages chasing prices, with this offer the cost of living crisis shall only get worse because it would make no sense for prices to chase wages.
Try to find out what your business unit "merit pool" was. That will let you know how you ranked.
By the way, Don't trust HR.
Make your supervisor answer the question.
Make sure you take on extra work to make that 2.5% worthwhile. The company will appreciate it. LOL
Consider it a worthy sacrifice to make sure executive leadership can live the way they deserve.
I’ll take it, but yeah I’d be upset too. lol Less than 1% for “top performer” over here.
