Leadership distrust

Does anybody here trust this leadership? If the answer is yes, why? What have they done to warrant that trust? I can't think of a single thing.

@bd so clearly you don’t work in ET. Or if you do you must be a townie. ET productive has increased since leaving the office. And if make everyone move back to that $&@hole called Bloomington you will lose the vast majority of your talent both young and old. It’s not 2005 anymore.

Thank God in my career at State Farm I never sold my soul to management. I would hate to say I was or am a manager at State Farm. The word is out on State Farm leadership and by no means you don't hear anything good or positive. Once a reputation is gone it is rare that it ever comes back. The did operations and now agency. None can ever be trusted again.

ET needs to be in Bloomington. return to office is pointless if teams are scattered across the country. One central location for all ET employees. Do it. NOW!!! If you don’t like it look for a new job.

@ax in my opinion it doesn’t hurt to know where the money is going. Plus MT’s salary is public record so it’s not like it was an obsession.

End of the day I think the point was the C suite is bloated when that money could be funneled into employees

Never ever trust anyone from TM up. None of them got there by work ethic or ability to produce. They are all politicians and we all know what we think of politicians.

@aq MT made significantly more than $30M. He bagged at least $121M as CEO.

A few notes:

We have weak, ineffective leadership, and a whole gaggle of yes women working below them. I feel the TM role is now just someone with zero management skills playing the part, and really, as a supervisor, might be the biggest waste of money in the company. They sit in meetings about metrics and the daily "must have changes" meeting where they discuss what random thing they will change to make it worse. They rarely know how to do your job, and often delegate your management to you.

Leadership from TM level up is driving this company off a cliff and its getting old and gruesome to watch. Roles that interact with customers is purposely understaffed, purposely undertrained, and with insane turnover, kept new and learning. Meanwhile the manager class get to sit in useless meetings and then work on metrics that help everyone keep their eye of the big picture and gives them a silly number to pat themselves on the back for.

Meanwhile its a meat grinder in claims, support staff, and underwriting.

Stop focusing on management, metrics, and silly useless activities. Focus on your core business. UW is a mess and turned into a customer support/complaint line for agents, where its better for the UW to cave in than have to deal with a complaint they didnt, which hurts our profitability. Claims is understaffed to the point its barely functional, which im sure earns billions in interest delaying settlement, but takes a massive toll on the workers trying to help people.

We dont deserve #1, why? we elected to destroy legacy SF to save money and earn tipsord 30million. We chose then to emulate our inferior competitors, which we are now the same as. Since we are not allowed to leverage our size to our advantage we are left with the people who interact with the customer to separate us from other companies, see earlier paragraph about why that isnt working well.

Company is a hot mess. We need to decide, is State Farm the cheap insurance or the quality insurance? We cant be both.

@OP I don’t think anyone below team managers trusts leadership. Team managers are a mixed bag because on the one hand there are team managers who legitimately try their best to not make our lives su-k. Problem is they end up getting forced out for glorified ‘yes’ men and women. I dunno what Blarney Farney and his cabal of cultish c-suiters are thinking.

I’ve heard rumors that Ed Rust has been back at the home office much more frequently but honestly that’s probably just a rumor.

End of the day I fear the only thing that may help is if we lose the number 2 spot to Geico or Allstate or someone else. That may trigger something. Claims is a nightmare. Underwriting is a mess. Let’s not even discuss ‘tech support’. Morale is at an all time low. If you look at the current C suite - none of them look like they have ever formed an opinion of their own. Makes sense with all the consultants and analysts the Farm hires.
