Joe Russo?

Just saw this on LI, it's it true? What does this mean for GN&T?

@ce LOL! The deep-seated issues preventing Verizon from outperforming have nothing to do with AI.

@c9 The new guy is highly experienced, and big time AI influencer. Change is a coming for the Network Engineering Teams.

@c9 The lucky winner is Abdu Mudesir. It was announced on this board a little further down.

@OP Joe Russo leaving isn’t all that significant by itself. Him being replaced by an executive from Europe is what’s important. European telcos have low profit margins due to regulations and competition and are therefore very lean. I would expect more layoffs, and outsourcing / offshoring in GN&T and some reductions in CapEx.

The cynic in me is betting he’ll cut some productive people and programs while leaving unproductive ones in place and then exit a few millions richer.

I look forward to the inevitable pointless reorgs due to another “retirement”

I’m sure that unless you’re an SVP, we won’t even notice the difference.
