Thread regarding FactSet Research Systems Inc. layoffs

Most women let go from the group

I hate making this a gender thing - but this feels discriminatory.

I joined Factset in 2022 and witnessed 2 rounds of layoffs. Originally my team had a total of 13 people originally (7 women and 6 men. There were more women in the original team because the team moved from one organization to another organization under the current leader) and now it has come down to 5 people in 2026.

I was impacted this cycle. One interesting thing I observed is that the leader of my group truly hates women. He let go of a total of 6 women and 2 men. At this point the team has 1 woman who is not US based which makes her safe. I don’t know if he’s being discriminatory but I was in really good performance standing due for a promotion for a long time. My manager pushed for it but her manager was not ready to approve. He also let go off my manager who was in really good standing. So I’m very confused… is this discrimination?

Wouldn’t play that DE&I card here. Old news and that alone ignited the downfall at the company. There were many unqualified women lead many of the departments during the old CFO and CEO.

New CEO has the right vision and doing what’s right for the company and shareholders.

Sorry you got laid off - move on.

@ag misogynist is also (one of) the words I would use for the leader of my team. I’ve seen some things. Bad decisions have been made.

@aa yes I agree. I have definitely seen many successful women in the company and that gives me some hope. I specifically think the leader of my team is a misogynist, nothing to do with the company. But like you said we will never know haha

I’ve been at FactSet for some time and a women based in US. I think I’ve only survived BECAUSE I am a woman. I have seen some of my male colleagues that were better performers than me let go. I’m not saying I don’t perform or am a slacker, but I felt they exceeded expectations more often than me. So I attribute it to salary. I strongly believe I make less. But, I guess we’ll never know!

Possibly but like the other comment said it’s largely impossible to prove. Correlation isn’t causation in a lawsuit. Also performance has nothing to do with layoffs regardless of gender

Hear you... sadly burden of proof is so difficult, these people are smart enough to cover their tracks to not open themselves up to lawsuits
