401k idea set to minimum

Basically, some of us will make it out alive 'working' at bny mellon. While, others will not. I assume that the best approach is to reduce our 401k matching to the minimal. Is it 2% the minimal contribution to our wage/salary is the lowest that we can set it to. I think if we cannot make it out alive then this would make most logical sense? Am I right or wrong?

@1wzs - read the fine print in the communication about the 401k changes. The company said it has the right to use ANY percentage amount when it the matching comes in 2024.

So, if you're putting 7% with hopes of getting an equivalent match, that may not be the case next year.

The one thing BNY does well is our 401k match. Well, up until now, anyway, with the match being deferred until 2024. If you’re going to work at BNY all of 2023, contribute enough to your 401k to get the full 7% match.

Can you wait for a few posts until we help @OP+1ktR2Lrv to lay off the sauce, me-h, fentanyl or whatever the heck is causing its disassociated rambling?

If he/she/shiite survives its breakdown then we can certainly move on to help you and the other millenials.

I agree with every word. You see the world accurately and your expression of your opinion is presented perfectly. In my opinion you should run HR, or at least run them out of town.

Dude, put as much money as you wish into the 401K and put more time into understanding what you’re doing. And lay off the sauce, me-h, fentanyl or whatever the heck is causing your disassociated rambling.

Even in your addled state you can save some money for your future. You’re a big boy now. It’s your life. If millennial, take another year of “me time” to decide these “life and death” decisions.

In promulgating your esoteric cogitations, or articulating your superficial sentimentalities and amicable, philosophical or psychological observations, beware of platitudinous ponderosity. Let your conversational communications possess a clarified conciseness, a compact comprehensibleness, coalescent consistency, and a concatenated cogency.

What are you even asking? You don’t have to contribute anything if you choose not to.

I don’t think that anyone knows these answers… probably even R.V. Is undecided, as he seems to waffle on everything.
