Say what you want about this place, but for me, it's still one of the best jobs I've had. Pay is fine. Work is interesting. Coworkers are great. That's why I'm scared of getting laid off. I don't want to go.

I think a lot of this depends on site. If I were in CA, NetApp might be mid. In RTP NetApp is pretty darn nice. I'm part of a monthly beer group that a pretty good cross section of tech people and compared to other people's stories it's not bad. To be clear it's a matter of how many punches to the face you're getting. Everpure seems better but Lenovo, Dell, HPE, and IBM all make NetApp look tame. If you want to feel good talk to a Lenovo or Dell person. OMG I think everyone there has Stockholm syndrome.
I think most of us really liked NetApp til they blindly told us to F off. Loyalty to the company means nothing.
haha....you will get lay off fast this or next 1-2 years. i got needs improvement and got layoff as well. Just go and join Everpure or other companies. at least thats a reset. Dont wait till layoff as everyone is looking for the same job you are fighting for. Do it now.
@OP don't buy into the idea that you should be thankful for a job. Your labor is undervalued.
But if you find other enterprise and global tech companies to work for, you'll see that what you get at NetApp is pretty mid compared to its peers.
Don't punch down. Realize that the C-Suite is stealing from you when they make 200 to 400 times what you make.
i had the same mentality like you 1 year ago until i got let go. I was working on super excited projects and feels ok....but they will still let you go every quarter.
HR shill. Everyone at NetApp gets laid off eventually!
Embrace the su-k ... and you'll be fine.
You lost me at "Pay is fine". But hey ... tactical t-t su-king isn't that bad.
