Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

No vision

I don't know if our leadership has a vision for this company, but if they do, then that vision has not been well communicated to us.
Personally, I think that they have completely lost control and that they mostly rely on luck, and not on well-thought-out business moves...

They have made the mistake in the last few years of communicating more and they have nothing to communicate. They need to keep it to a minimum to keep the illision that their is some plan and they are dilegently working on it.

They are mostly c level and vp and director level. They spew the corporate line and all this nonsense but inside they are shaking because they know this a rudderless ship, and have lost control of the market.

They should have listened to those on the ground that warned them about competitive pressures, and that 5G meant next to nothing. As long as people can stream their videos, and go on Instagram with little load time, they are by in large content. Also, the extreme 5g roll out we started with the super high frequency has the limitations. T mobile outplayed us in the market, and now in the technology roll out which used to be our bread and butter.

Also, bundling with the different streaming services becomes gimmick ridden as people already had, and do not want to pay a premium for this type of content.

Finally, while all this was happening the arrogant bosses, HQ people thought we were too big to fail and could operationally cut savings, so we could afford our current and new debts. It left us with an entire sales organization that is discontent, and the rest of the staff fearing or hoping for when their layoff would arrive.

So as for this, yea enjoy your time on the HMS Titanic, (Verizon) and listen to the last few minutes of the band playing because I don't think the company will be anywhere near what it is in 5 years. Further rocky times are ahead.
