Thread regarding CDW layoffs

CDW's Rank - WSJ - The 2026 Best Companies for the Future

The Wall Street Journal evaluates how leading US corps stack up in 6 areas: AI readiness, innovation, talent readiness, financial fitness, resilience and agility.

CDW ranks #145 overall with an Overall Score of 54.6, placing it 11th out of 21 Technology Hardware & Equipment companies. Its best factors are Agility Rank #98, Resilience #120, and Talent Readiness #140. That gives CDW a decent execution profile, particularly as an IT distribution and solutions intermediary.

The weak points are AI Rank #215, Innovation #290, and Financial Fitness #315. The data suggests CDW is operationally capable, but not a high-conviction AI or innovation leader. Strategically, CDW may benefit from enterprise IT modernization, but the ranking does not view it as a primary creator of future technology value.

From reading some of this thread...I'm so glad I quit last year.

Some of you actually deserve what's going on. Down vote me all you want...doesn't change reality or your predicament.

I'm not the one stressing or needing to tidy up my resume for another job. You all are!

To all the actual decent humans still there...hope you're all able to exit and find something else quickly. There aren't many of you left.

So many "know it alls" but you're all on the same sinking ship. Hope the brainiacs know how to swim.

Now get back to work and get my shares back up to $200+

@15j
They can't answer... it's telling me they don't know without telling me they don't know 🤣

Just ignore some of these people. If everyone at the company was so smart...we wouldn't be worried about repeated mass layoffs. Too many Kool-aid drinkers that love the free pizza parties.

No actual answer but saying someone sounds like uneducated id--t for thier post.

Do tell how much annual Salesforce costs are since you said the other person was wrong.

@115 As long as he is winning while walking out the door, we are happy! We don't care if you say he wins or he thinks he wins. He got the ax and that is enough for us. We cut our problems in half and only have one final one to go after that.

Kind of curious since someone brought this up and you mentioned the figures were wrong.
I have no clue but Googled costs and Gemini provides a range for per user per month depending on the version purchased. Not sure what version we're using.
If there's AI savings and more outsourcing of backbone...cost to do business should have dropped or will be and maybe that will boost our stock and then things will settle down with layoffs and compensation cuts.
Not sure if any of this will grow revenues but earnings per share would go up which Wall Street likes.

Sounds like whoever "TS" is, they are living rent free in your head and you have some need to come to this site and post about them over and over. Seems like they are winning.

An entire section was eliminated because some coworkers come on here and criticize each others posts. We all complain and grieve and laugh at different things. Because it is different, there is no need for teams such as id--t and old timer. Just speak your mind and stay united. Though we are different, we need to remain united or give a different look in a respectful way. We all need to remain professional and mature.

@y3 don’t get in the mud with people who insult others. Ignore them!!!

That is not a bad idea. I am going to take a page out of your book and send a note to 30 tide watch in Newport Beach , California. I have a brother in a different city and can send it from his home. Thanks for the idea!

Sorry, but who do you think was the head of AI that went to a competitor?

I actually have seen her in the office in Rosemont more than I have seen some of our alleged top Sellers. But I also am not sure being in the office = success. So, not sure why even bring that up?

Tell me you don't have a clue how much Salesforce costs without saying you don't know how much Salesforce costs. CDW is not spending "$30M - $60M annually" on Salesforce. You sound like an uneducated id--t when you post stuff like that.

People worried about addresses don't realize CDW pays for personal security not just private jets. Also there's more than one mansion. How often do you actually see these overpaid execs physically in the office though 🤣

Anyways...back to real issues. I find it funny how most if not all our C level has no actual sales experience.

Personally I've quiet quit and they have no clue as my customers love me and I keep hitting goal. But I won't push myself like I used to since the current compensation isn't worth the extra effort.

They spent so much on Saleforce that when it was announced, Marc Benioff was on that call. Per Google...for a 15000 employee company like CDW, typical costs are $30-60 million annually. That's like $4000 per employee per year on the top end but there are like maybe 9000 coworkers in sales and direct sales support (specialists etc). So everyone has to create around $50k GP per AM to just cover that annual cost. On top of the draw each month.... that's a lot of GP we don't get paid on or that gets thrown in the trash (IMO cuz our SF build out blows).

Happy Father's Day and Juneteenth everyone 🥳

The real reason the company is in decline is the amount of people who conflate education and title with actual intelligence.

Glad I made my money as I don't care either way for leadership or most of my fellow coworkers as I know most or all don't care about me.

To those actual sincere/nice coworkers...save up your paychecks now to protect yourself as you're not valued or cared about. We're all just #'s

@gt I don’t believe anyone asked anyone to show up. But I do say that we should send letters to her at 30 Tide Watch in Newport Beach California .

Our security team was checking to see who was posting on this site from our CDW WiFi and our devices so this is the only way to speak to her without fear of termination. If they hire an outside agency to investigate that security really did that, you will find out it was true. Don’t be afraid, do it if you have nothing to hide.

@OP
Anything you see AI related to CDW...is all marketing and trying to play catchup as we're late to the game.

How many DC's have been built already without CDW having even being involved while our partners like Nvidia, Broadcom, AMD, Intel, Dell, SuperMicro, etc etc have all coordinated and built everything on thier own.

Late to the game and trying to collect some crumbs now.

Who's going to sell all this as well as they're pushing out tenured and knowledgeable coworkers and bringing in newbie college grads that haven't made a cold call yet.

Interesting article/ranking though. Looks like we're not even sniffing the top anymore. How the mighty have fallen. Glad my customers trust me and are loyal.
