But I'm yet to hear that anybody found it. That's how bad it is out there. And that's the main reason why not just Verizon, but most of the companies can currently get away with treating their employees like cr-p. There's literally nowhere else to go for the majority of us.

Former Vz here. The market is flooded with prior Verizon employees, and what I’m hearing is that they aren’t paying a premium. Having vz in your resume isn’t what it used to be.
Su-ks but you have to keep applying and applying and have your resume stand out. I finally found something but, yes you're right it took a long long time. I'm finally out of this company and couldn't be happier. Good luck everyone!
@c8 You it’s a bad job market when all of the “colleges” can’t find jobs.
@ad amen to that
Many of my RIFd colleges are having trouble finding new jobs in IT. Market is saturated with laid off employees from not just Verizon but from other companies too.
It would be nice if VZ just got its junk together and this place became a better place to work. I believe the likelihood of that happening is very low, but not impossible. To achieve it though requires long term investment in talent to steer the ships in the fleet that is this crazy company. I think we need a refresh from outside of the industry at VP and high up Director levels in all of our software and networking departments. We have too many people making decisions that no longer know what those decisions entail because they have not built any tangible software or networks themselves in decades. Things have changed so much in the past 5-10 years. It is not crazy to think we need fresh minds to come in and identify our weaknesses systems and processes wise. It seems we do pay for those minds but via consultancies. This is expensive and will not actually usher in change company wide. We need static leadership with nuanced perspectives to help us slowly and surely get things back in order. Instead we’re just getting slash and burn headcount reduction tactics and enormous bills from consultants with no real implementation that is long lasting. That is what you get when you desire to run a massive legacy enterprise with contracted labor. Little investment in the results because that labor will be onto another company at the end of their contract. The sad part is most people know what needs to be done but no one will do it because it’s uncomfortable. So long as that remains constant we will just shuffle around problems and remain where we are if lucky or decompose if not.
Not everyone. I’m looking to retire.
You ain’t lying. I already got one foot out the door. I was hoping to pick up a rif on my way out.
