A number of job cuts in the Bay Area were made public on Thursday in new WARN filings with the state. Among them were layoffs for Cisco Systems Inc. The San Jose-based tech giant plans to cut 236 workers at 170 West Tasman Dr. in San Jose, 154 at 560 McCarthy Blvd. in Milpitas and another 81 at 500 Terry A. Francois Blvd. in San Francisco. The 471 layoffs are effective July 13.

Jul 13 is the last day, the most impacted in the south bay area are managers, leaders.
@OP this is an id--tic post. The WARN notice is referring to the May LR. And SURPRISE Cisco is reducting headcount where it's MOST expensive. duh. Sooo many roles are moving to areas of the country (and world) with lower cost of living and lower employment taxes. duh again. This is a direct result of how damn expensive it is to have employees in California. No wonder everyone is running out of the state.
CISCO like many other companies typically filed WARN notice in last minutes. The impacted people in California were notified on 5/14 - exactly 2 months in advance of the July 13th last day. If there is another LR in California, notification will be first.

"effective July 13" means they were announced 2 months earlier on May 13.
