Many U.S. Firms Announce July Job Cuts

Many U.S. businesses anticipate job reductions in July. WARN filings indicate a more careful hiring trend. Technology, cloud services, and manufacturing firms are most affected. Companies cite automation, artificial intelligence, and efficiency as driving factors. The overall job market appears stable, yet growth is becoming uneven.

Eisp for union I heard is not going to be As BiG as was the rumor

Sounds like this offer is going to very disappointing in its size and numbers offered. That coupled with fact if it’s offered too late the rate is only going to get worse affecting the size of the lump later in year.Im so confused on what is taking so long for an Eisp offer for union associates.I know they have a bunch of warn notices for management layoffs maybe they are waiting till after that no clue why.I was just hoping for something really Big and enhanced

Zoetis is FKED

Hundreds of people axed in Kalamazoo, no WARN filing. Leadership has tanked the stock price and its in the toilet. A complete and utter disaster! CEO and CFO lied about Librela numbers and are being sued. Stay away from this company, more layoffs happening in Jun/July 2026.

306 folks being cut in Sunnyvale

WARN was submitted on June 19, and it lists August 21 as the date layoffs will take effect. Not really surprising, as Walmart has been ramping up layoffs lately. I guess we need to face facts and realize that this is the new normal: constant layoffs both on store and corporate levels.

It's about that time - yet again!

Well, Q2 is almost in the books, and you know what's cooking in the kitchen besides some 30oz steaks on the grill? More cuts, cut the fat, cut the hype, cut me a steak! Man, make it two!

Getting those lists ready as we really need to make the numbers to show just how much a difference getting a new head honcho is making. Let's make sure to keep it under 50 in every state just so that we don't have to put out any WARN notices, OK?

While we are at it, let's pretend we did something interesting with AI, like a security thing-a-jig that is not AI, but kind of sounds like it is. Or maybe we helped a mid-market company no one has ever heard of doing something wh-z-bang with AI? Yes, that sounds about right. Print it!

And also while no one is paying attention to us (really no one is) let's hire more Cisco folks who are washed up and were on the list for LR (go look it up).

How does the WARN notice take affect if I lived in NY for 3 months then moved to NJ.

What if its the summer equinox after the mid year election on a Tues and I’m on vacation leave. If they send out a notice on a Wednesday before that Tues. how am I affected? Do I get extra pay or am I penalized? I’ve read the handbook and I don’t see a section that covers this.

They can’t even do layoffs properly!

Our leadership is so inept, they can’t even do layoffs properly!

If they did a large round of layoffs, it would make the news and they would get a temporary boost to the stock price. They could then reassure the remaining workforce that they’re done with layoffs for at least a year so everyone can focus on their work.

These seemingly random mini layoffs will hurt productivity bigly. They may be doing to avoid filing WARN but it’s still a bad strategy.

What’s the deal with the NY\NJ WARN notice discussions?

A third of the posts are in regards to the many different ways that the WARN notice for NY\NJ can be interpreted, why? Is it really that complex? Is it really that dynamic to where it changes so often, you have to constantly crunch the numbers?

I live on Apple St., which is one block over from outside the NY city limits. If its a Tues at 3PM and I get placed on notice but I’m not told about it until the following Friday at 1PM, do I get an extra 2.37 days worth of pay? etc…. WTF kind of questions are these plaguing this board?!?!

I don’t see any other location discussing all the different possible gyrations of how to squeeze another 2 cents, 2 days, whatever out of the system.
