Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

306 folks being cut in Sunnyvale

WARN was submitted on June 19, and it lists August 21 as the date layoffs will take effect. Not really surprising, as Walmart has been ramping up layoffs lately. I guess we need to face facts and realize that this is the new normal: constant layoffs both on store and corporate levels.

This warn notice is just official paperwork to support the May 12-13 Walmart RIF. Walmart has to file with the appropriate regulatory group 60+ days out from final termination day.

Just shows you what % of the "1,000" were Bay Area impacts.

Walmart has the money to turn upside down and throw lives upside down with empty promises, they've been doing it for a long time, they never tell you this could fail just jump in this is a last minute opportunity and the chance of a lifetime, then you get a email saying from someone you've never heard of saying they appreciate you help but due to business needs you're no longer needed. They use people like pawns, like a number, total disregard for individuals, you're nothing more than a useful id--t that believed their BS and you will be disposed of as such...you think they care if you believed them? bet a new car loan on them? house, bills, moved, uprooted your lives because they promised you the world? they will put a mark through your name and give no thought to it and your problems or what they promised you. You're fools for thinking Wal-Mart gives a hoot about you or their broken promises or what the consequences of those broken promises are for you and yours. How many times do they have to abuse you before you stop shopping there???

Just remnants of the failed Jet.com deal. New Jersey and California locations were rebadged to be Walmart, but there was never any plan to keep those resources because they were believed to be undesirable, and it turned out they were. Mouthy, entitled, maybe worked 5 hours a day (one told me it could take two hours to get in to work with all the freeway gridlock)….

Some are H1B, many are foreign nationals…… lots of piercings and just generally weird people.

The smart ones already bailed, but this is just a cleanup to get rid of the leased spaces and now unnecessary infrastructure. Plus, no one living in the Silicon Valley is gonna wanna move to Benton-suk-ville.

Walmart will not miss a beat with these people gone.
