Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Got My Start Date…

Apologize if this is insensitive.

Start date in mid-July. Talent and PL kind of wishy washy about impacts to my new role come September. I’m just gonna ride it out but feels surreal.

Anyone else starting soon and get any answers?

If they approved it, you are good for at least a year.

I would not stress out, just come in and knock it out of park.

At this point there is nothing else you can do or you have control over.

It'll be chaotic for a while but you should not notice it as you will not have a reference point.

You'll be good.

Good luck.

All of the jobs were pulled off the website and only a small portion have been added. If you got a start date, its because your position was not canceled.

if you just got hired, your position is needed for future state or the recruiting process would have been cancelled.

the response you got from HR and your PL is because they literally do not know. we are in all the dark here.

your team could change, your PL could change, org could change… but I would be shocked for them to go through the trouble of hiring you to just let you go in a few months.

don’t fret, but I can say is BUCKLE UP! sh-t is going to get messy… I’m not trying to be negative, just realistic. there will be an increase in work with less staff. unfortunately, I think this will be the norm anywhere with the surge of AI. it’s a matter of how much are you willing to take on.

if you don’t mind sharing, what business area are you in? IT? Quality? Customer Service? Health Plan or Corporate?
