Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

Pretty sure OT is buying back the stock

No way this green is organic… OT buys from the buyback program… any thoughts?

@df If we had a plan, and a solution - there's an argument to be made about undervalue.

We have neither of those and different departments have their own iceberg to sink the ship. Consensus is not enough change in the right places.

Hating vs criticism falls flat when the company uses aggregate data to offset regions that see more issues. The best way to stop it is just to see if it can be changed. That requires seeing if the concerns are valid.

Layoffs vs major reorg vs nothing-ever-happens, someone is just going to be wrong about. RSU has sometimes lost 10-30%+ by vesting time, and not even internals recommend buying into our discounted ESPP.

From what I see it seem likely at least something happens - Cork salaries can be higher than Canadian ones but a bit cheaper than the states. Their expansion could require some of the remaining US OT offices be consolidated alongside being more impacted in layoffs. The alternative is very good prices on quick sell off deals. We're told no fire sales are to happen meaning the sooner Cork expansion starts the quicker a hole starts.

@b0 The stock buy happens on the last day of June so that hadn’t occurred yet

@df undervalued? The company is 6 billion in debt with declining revenue and falling sales with no ki-ler product in an industry being disrupted by AI

How is it undervalued ?

Instead of using the money to give better severance they will use it to pump the stock so ELT can get bonus
