You can’t make a good deal with Ford Motor Company; just forget it. If you think you can set up a contract that will work against an unethically run company, they are going to win. For one thing, they probably enjoy litigation, but in your own life you do not want to spend your time doing that sort of thing. Besides, companies like FMC tend to win at that game because they know more of the tricks rather more of the equitable engagements. Sure, they may eventually lose, but it is not a good way to spend your life.

These people only care about how much they can protect the Blue Oval. They can be very strange and often treat rising through the ranks like a popularity contest, where the more popular they are, the more insulation they have from fallout when engaging in behavior that others who have their soul in-tact might view as unethical.

Smart people often fall into the trap of thinking they can protect themselves against a dishonest partner through ironclad contracts, clever clauses, or leverage.

The best deal you can make with a bad person is no deal at all, no matter the price.

Ask:
What is the cost of keeping that door open?

If someone is unethical, they view a contract not as a commitment, but as a temporary obstacle to be circumvented. They will find loopholes, delay payments, or simply dare you to sue them.

Ask:
"Would I recommend this deal, person, job, customer, friend, to someone I love?"

@a3 Apparently you are one of the dim-bulbs that cannot process information from a variety of sources.
You are unable to use logic, wisdom and critical analysis to understand complex issues and therefore you reject information based on mindless bias.
Now retired from Ford I do hope you are not an engineer but rather in a position you can cause minimal harm.
