Trade Preclearance once you're let go

Typical Citi, their FAQ to fired employees says you still have to receive trade preclearance while on Garden leave. But when you call compliance they have no idea how to preclear you because you're no longer in the system and HR just sends an auto reply that they'll get back to you at their convenience .....

So, if I sell stocks am I going to lose my Severance because Citi is too incompetent to put proper procedures in place to pre-clear those in let go?

I'm so glad I was let go. It's like I was in a bad relationship but needed to be broken up with. I just can't wait to be done with this place.

@e5 they receive our statements. They get access when we register in the AIM process.

How would they know that you’re buying or selling stocks? I’ve always wanted to know that. If you don’t report it, I think they have no way of knowing that we’re trading.

@ct not accurate. The payment system is completely separate from the compliance system which preclears you. Compliance needs to be able to pull up your information to see which department you worked in and the risk of approving your pre-clearance. Public side employees are treated differently than private side. If you've been deleted from the system, they cannot find you, they cannot clear you.

When on garden leave, you are on the system. That is how you get paid.

The egregious pre-clear is reason enough to leave. Thank you!

You need to go to an employment lawyer to find out what your options are.

That's Citi for ya - always act before they think things through. Absolute d-mb@sses who don't even let you keep your FSA the day they put you on garden leave, but want you to continue seeking preclearance for trading your own stocks.....but using what? Thin air? Id--ts know only one thing - make Jane's paycheck bigger every year
