The application deadline is still July 2 even though the other date changed from July 15 to the 27th.
The clause "we strongly suggest you apply for the VSP only if you want to leave Centene" with the hope that people will change their yes to a no? I mean are there really people applying that want to stay? The point of saying yes is to leave isn't it?
I'm so confused.

yes, I wanted to stay. however… they made it very clear if they didn’t hit the target, involuntary layoffs will follow.
since we’re all being left in the dark about the number of positions expected to be eliminated, people are putting their best interests first.
I’m not staying, taking on more work and stressing myself out more than I already am, only to be cut in a few months with less or nothing because they decided I’m not needed anymore.
they gave us a choice to leave and now they’re trying to walk back on that. no.
Yes, there are definitely people applying who want to stay! They enjoy their jobs, but they’re feeling stressed about what’s going on. They see the Voluntary Separation Program (VSP) as a safer choice right now. With Centene facing big challenges like sharp drops in enrollment, the end of pandemic-era ACA subsidies, and cuts to Medicaid funding, things are tough. These issues have led to millions of lost members and a sicker patient mix, which means higher medical claims. So, some employees would rather take the VSP than risk a layoff later, especially if severance may be less or maybe non-existent(We just don’t now). The stress and uncertainty about potential layoffs can be really overwhelming. With all that’s going on, it makes sense that many are considering the VSP to secure their futures. It’s a tough spot for everyone involved!
@OP My thought was to apply and, if they accept it, I might have been laid off, so I'm protecting myself with the severance offered even though it's on the low side.
If I'm in an area that will negatively impact operations, they will reject my application. That made logical sense to me. I don't feel that way after reading today's email, though. Wow.
I know people that applied and people that didn't on my team. Some people applied because they felt that they didn't have a choice with layoffs coming in the nexts "months/year." I did what's best for my family.
