WAIT!! we are using the same consultants as Enron??

I just listened to a podcast about the rise & fall of Enron. Shortly after the company started, they consulted with McKinsey &Co and then hired their consultant into the company who was later convicted for the tangled web of lies, deceit, and fraud the company thrived in and which ruined them.

Didn’t PP reach out to that very company for strategic advice? AND hire on several of them?

I know there has been references in this site to how bad our relationship with McKinsey is, but I never knew why. And, there’s been references to the downfall of this company being used as lessons in business classes, but I thought that was a tad dramatic.

But, now that my eyes are fully open… I think my kids will someday be listening to podcasts about the Rise & Fall of Edward Jones that will sound eerily similar to the one I just heard.

@rz Yeah this website won't let you post anyone's name so we have to use initials or nick names. But yes, there are definitely ELT drones on this page who downvote and run away. They will never try to debate or debunk anything we say. Logic and common sense need not apply to these creatures.

Many companies use McKenzie to push accountability off when the goal fails. PP fell into the trap.

Imagine paying millions of dollars to outside consultants to try and find a better way to be efficient with money and processes VS just asking the people who do the day to day work? That shows you what kind of mo--n we have as MP.

Purdue Pharma was also a client of McKinsey and McKinsey had to pay over $650 million in a settlement with the DOJ because of the advice they gave Purdue Pharma that led to the opi--d crisis.

One of our ELT members worked at McKinsey for over 10 years before going to Citibank.

JFC!! McKinsey is one of the largest consulting firms in the world. They’ve worked with every company of size in the world.
