Imagine a product so bad that many customers have kicked it (PPDM) out of their environments and gone back to Networker or Avamar by EMC, two product lines that havent even been touched in over 10 years.

If that isn't the very definition of collosal fck-up failure by ISG leadership, I don't know what is. Dell has no idea what it's doing in enterprise software solutions.

@b7 AI

That worked well for Ford, but we all know how well Mr. Dell listens to anyone who might be smarter than him.

This aligns with the approach taken a few months ago regarding the China development team, which was let go with minimal transition planning. We are now seeing a similar work force reduction here in the US. Whatever PPDM has left is going to India to get developed. All with AI in mind.

I feel for all those affected.

Why are the leaders who are directly over PPDM never held accountable? Yes, they let Travis go, which was the right move since he was clueless about everything, but those closest to PPDM are just as bad. I've listened to their presentations. They're a disaster!

I remember when PPDM was first pitched many years ago. They promised they would be on par with, or even exceed, the capabilities of Cohesity, Rubrik, Commvault, Veritas, Veeam in just a few short years. That was years ago and we're now even further behind than we were then with Networker and Avamar that still, at the time, sorta kinda worked....sorta.

PPDM ranks right up there with the x400 debacle as one of the biggest Cluster Fck failures in ISG. Yet those closest to it were/are never held accountable. Why?

That's because PPDM is a piece of shiiit. We stopped even pitching it or selling it years ago. It's years behind the competition and Is nowhere near Enterprise ready.
