Utilization Review Department Actresses

Let’s call it out the directors of the UR Department are world class actresses but little to no experience actually doing the front line work
They attempt to put on world class performances but the workers know
It could be so much better

@f9 and I’ve had a front row seat to their inner dealings for YEARS, having worked along side these two and can say this is all a show. A good cop, bad cop performance for your benefit. This is how they operate. It’s change management, mind mess, make the common folk think you’re on their side. Don’t fall for it, these two are ruthless and would sell their first born to get to the AVP position. In fact, they’re AVPs in training.

@bj I’ve seen it myself. They are treated badly by the new aVP and hands are tied. Many complained about her prior to her assuming responsibility for inpatient and hr was very aware of her behaviors. And it happened anyways. So many good people were riffed or forced to take erp and were left with lousy leadership

@aw the two Directors are experienced but have not worked UM front line for MANY years. Leadership is an absolute cr-p show but these two are not abused by their AVP by any means. The AVP has been useless for years.

Same goes for the ServiceFund department. Same act, different stage.

Agree. The avp sets the tone and her maturity level is low.

Having been in that department, they are recently reporting to avp who is a nightmare and has no interest in any feeeback. Both the directors actually have a lot of experience but are so micromanaged and abused by the leadership it’s sad.
