Thread regarding PNC layoffs

Half of my team gets to WFH for the next month

And the rest of us are stuck paying +$200 a month in parking/commuting fees and losing dozens of hours of personal time

The way PNC is handling everything right now is fu--ing absymal. I didn't think it was possible for the morale to get any lower, but here we are.

Has your department/management sent out any official notice yet?

@b8 I wouldn’t tell people that because they are checking addresses.

If you live anywhere that requires travel thru the sq hill tunnel you absolutely should be granted full wfh for the next month.

@bd

At 11am someone spontaneously communicates with me in the hallway. They say “cold enough for you?” I say “sure is.” We have strengthened the culture. I bill this to my personal time, of which I have dozens of hours to give, apparently.

You cannot make this up later. That’s the thing. The serendipity is happening RIGHT NOW and you’re missing it from the comfort of your own home.

I have to go now, someone is walking toward the coffee machine and I don’t want to miss it.

@b8

Do that and you are only cheating yourself.

Those cross-functional collaboration, spontaneous communication, and company culture strengthening opportunities simply can't be made up later.

@b8 idk about that. certain people got an email about WFH during that period while others did not. I know that because i know of several people who got it and i did not as i am not impacted by it.

They aren't going to check your address. Just WFH.
