Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

How low can OpenText leadership go?

As expected, my LinkedIn feed for the last 18 hours has been filled with former colleagues announcing they had been kicked to the curb by OpenText.

But in a new sick twist, a number of remaining employees have taken to LinkedIn to crow how they were promoted over the past two days. The posts all read the same as if they were told or highly encouraged to post and what to post.

In addition, there were posts (on the same day as their colleagues being dumped) celebrating the addition of new employees.

There is no doubt that ELT and HR have orchestrated this to cover up the nasty truth that a number of talented, hard working, productive people were sacrificed to almighty Canadian dollar to make amends for the sins of Tom Jenkins as he leads this company to ruin.

OpenText under the leadership of Jenkins, the clueless BoD, Bell, Muhi, and the rest of the clownshow ELT has become classless and hopeless.

Unwittingly, OT is showing what it really means when they say the company is "Canadian by design" ... Incompetent, fractured and losing relevance.

@a2 I was part of the good talent that was smart enough to get the f*ck out of there. Place is a disaster, incompetent mgt, terrible products. I hope everyone wakes up and leaves that place. Customers hate the company and are leaving in droves

@a5 I never heard of OpenText until they showed up and ruined my company. The purchase made no sense. They paid way more than the company was worth and within a year obliterated all that value. It was the first of many times I wondered how OT makes money doing this.

Far as Mr. Fanboi on these threads goes, of the companies that do know OT because they are hapless customers, you better believe they are making contingency plans. I did back when I was on that side of the aisle, and would now. And you better believe competitors are going to circle like buzzards.

@a2 Your comment makes no sense. The stock is at multi-year lows. If you keep any people, you are keeping the cancer that caused the multi-year lows.

I'm in Fortune 500 tech - and no on fcuking knows who Opentext is anymore. The 30-40 yr old managers and directors of my customers have never heard of Opentext.

@a2, are you in Waterloo on a Canadian Work Permit, and OpenText is telling you they will let you continue to stay if you post this nonsense?

I am relieved to hear we are retaining talent like our engineering visionary (Moo-eee) who made the startlingly claim that AI can comment code.
