He's had the keys for a while, he just can never start the car. GTS is doomed..... get out while you can!!!
They did not go outside the company for a CIO because it is cheaper and less effort to just promote another sorry GTS leader since the goal is the final destruction of the IT organization.
The worst is yet to come.

It's simple. Vifeck was finally handed the golden keys.
He's moving his friends into leadership roles, shuffling other folks around - everyone expects that Wael will quit within a few month. And all the orgs are sorted into teams that will be rebadged and teams that will stay (<20%). So if you see a completely nonsensical move? That's separating the teams to be rebadged into easy to handle orgs.
@OP no need to understand...get paid and move on...every group has gone through the same....life is short
