Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

BAIN, if you're listening...

Good move on Travis V. He was obvious, d-mb as dirt.

However, you need to do the same for the rest of the clowns in ISG - Directors, VPs, SVPs. A couple are okay but most have no business doing what they're getting paid to do. Just look at their track records. Their failed records speak loud and clear who should hit the bricks.

How Dell managed to bring in so many incompetent dipshiiiits in high ranking positions is a mystery.

@f9 It doesn't matter how many direct reports a manager has. Whether it's 1 or 100, If that manager isn't worth two sshhiitts, it really doesn't matter. Managers we have now aren't worth two sshhiitts.

@f9 sounds like a lot of mgrs on the way out with a lot of them having about 20 on their team. In reality what will mgmt role look like in the future? AI can send out emails and approve time off.

@ey And Chuck made out with over $50m for those two years (of doing what exactly?).

@e9 I’ve heard the new goal is that managers should have 40 (!) direct reports.

Full circle: The primary figure connecting the management consultancy Bain & Company and Dell Technologies is Chuck Whitten. He is a Senior Partner at Bain who previously served as Dell's Co-Chief Operating Officer (COO) from August 2021 through August 2023.

They will replace some executives with AI. First cut will be the first line managers, the ones in 1:1 for careers. AI career counselling is in the way.

Code an die. Nobody wants you spending 5 days in a feature when AI does it 50 minutes.

Automatons. You know how much money Dell would save if they replaced executives with AI? When has a Dell executive come up with a new and original idea in the last decade?

AI could do their job perfectly.

They’re all “yes men”. They got rid of anyone with independent, original thoughts and ideas over the past two years. They want automatons.
